The residents of Fontana have learnt a good trick. They hold their donkeys by the reins as they wait for the bus. The donkeys can easily take you to the top of Mount Epomeo (but rest assured you can also climb up the path on foot), with its narrow tufa peak reaching a height of 788. From there the panorama over the island and the gulf of Naples is magnificent.
The belvedere commands a breathtaking view of the site of Sant'Angelo, the beach and the peninsula.
