This is a medieval square in the centre of old Mantova bordered by the Bonacolsi palace which is flanked by the Cage tower (wrongdoers were once exposed to public condemnation) and theEpiscopal palace the façade of which stands out for its two atlantes which support a balcony. To the east you will see the oldest buildings of the Ducal palace, la Magna Domus and the Capitain's palace. To the north stands the somewhat composite Cathedral.
