This gulf extends from the tip of Infreschi to Praia a Mare, skirting a mountainous coastline whose needle-like peaks soar upwards. One side of the corniche road overlooks emerald green waters which lap a host of delightful creeks and, on the other, the slopes are planted with crops, timber and chestnut trees. Among the many tiny hamlets you will pass through, look out for Maratea. Monte Biagio commands a superb view of the gulf and the Calabrian coast.
