Montevecchio : Michelin's recommendations

The little town of Montevecchio constitutes one of Sardinia's oldest mining settlements. Today there are just 350 inhabitants – a tenth of its former population. The mine was in continuous operation from 1850 to 1991, with productivity peaking after the Second World War. All of the buildings, including the mining headquarters, the church and the hospital, have an eclectic style that mixes elements of neo-Classicism, neo-Medievalism, Liberty and Art Deco.
