Orgosolo : Michelin's recommendations

Orgosolo has retained its pastoral traditions and a strong social-political conscience. Once a stronghold of Sardinian “bandits”, the village was defended by its farmers and shepherds in the 1970s when they were forced to defend their lands from being expropriated by the State. This period is remembered in the many murals which add a touch of colour to Orgosola’s streets. The village is a good base for trips into the surrounding area, including the Montes forest and the Funtana Bona spring.
