In the centre of the city, a portico and shops surround the forum. The public monuments of the old town are open: the curie, the macellum (covered market), the comitium (where they elected their magistrates), and the temple of Peace. To the east, the amphitheatre or at least the part that remains, since during the laying of the road in 1750, the building was cut in two, and the gymnasium which was undoubtedly once a sanctuary enclosing a swimming pool.
