This small temple is evidence of the success of the cult of the Egyptian goddess Isis as a result of the development of contacts with the East and with Egypt. Placed on a podium in the centre of an arcaded courtyard, the temple is completed by a purgatorium, a place for purification where the waters have drawn from the Nile are guarded. The temple decoration can be seen in the museum at Naples... as long as the room is open when you visit!
