Portogruaro Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

The town grew up from the 11C onwards on the banks of the River Lemene. It has retained several typically Venetian palazzi (14C-16C), as well as an unusual 14C town hall with a crenellated façade. The river flows behind the palace, and next to it stands a small 17C fishermen’s chapel with its own landing-stage. On the opposite bank, don’t miss the archaeological museum which houses a collection of Roman and palaeo-Christian artefacts from the Roman colony of Concordia Sagittaria (3km south).
