In the 4C, all Christians were baptised in this baptistry, founded by Constantine, which is today the setting for Holy Saturday ceremonies. Rebuilt in the 5C, it was modified with the addition of various structures (chapels). Its present aspect dates from the 17C. Note the beautiful 5C-7C mosaics.
