It was rebuilt in the 16th and 17th centuries. In 1684, Carlo Fontana adorned it with a slightly concave Baroque facade. The single-nave plan, flanked by chapels, is a Renaissance feature, and was designed by Jacopo Sansovino (1486-1570). The large coffered vault dazzles with gold and numerous colours. It enriches an interior decorated with works of art that illustrate the Renaissance to Baroque period.
