This is the name given to the old town of San Remo because of its beaklike (pigna) shape. It has preserved its medieval appearance and is crisscrossed by a network of alleys lined by tall and narrow houses. From the Baroque sanctuary of Madonna della Costa, there is a fine view of the town and bay.
