Sassari Travel guide
Sassari : Michelin's recommendations
Sassari is the second largest town in Sardinia. Visitors will be surprised by the contrast between its new districts, with their spacious avenues, and the old town, nestled round its cathedral. Sassari is the setting for a number of festivals, including the famous Cavalcata Sarda, in which folk groups from around the island take part in a huge procession, and the Festa dei Candelieri (Festival of Candles), in honour of the Virgin Mary, celebrated in Sassari since the 16C.
