17km from Sassari, the church stands in the midst of a barren landscape. It is the only surviving vestige of a former Camaldolese abbey. Built in the 12C in layers of black and white stone, it is an attractive example of Pisan architecture. The apse is decorated with Byzantine- inspired mosaics from the 13C.
