: Michelin's recommendations
The Aeolian islands comprise seven islands off the coast of Sicily, each of which has their own character. Lipari and Paranea are popular with tourists; Salina is quieter and less visited; Stromboli and Vulcano are home to active volcanoes; and Filicudi and Alicudi, the furthest from Sicily, boast wild, natural landscapes which will delight those who enjoy getting off the beaten track. All seven islands are popular with scuba diving enthusiasts, thanks to their varied and abundant marine life.
