Agrigento Highly Recommended Highly Recommended Highly Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

Former Akragas was founded by settlers from Gela in 581 BC. From Antiquity, the town has retained a magnificent group of temples, some of which are in better condition than others, located below its acropolis. On the hilltop, the medieval town escaped the destruction caused by the 1693 earthquake and has retained its traditional character.
