Castle : Michelin's recommendations
This castle, built on a rocky spur on the site of a pre-existing fortress, dates from the 11C. From the original building, the castle developed downwards in spiral fashion. In the 17C, the Amatà transformed this fortress into an elegant aristocratic residence. After crossing the threshold of an 18C doorway, you enter the conspirators' room where barons conspired against William I the Bad. There is a superb panoramic view from the Mastra tower.
