Carini : Michelin's recommendations
According to legend, the town of Carini, situated on a hill facing the bay of the same name, was founded by Daedalus and given the name of Hyccara in honour of his son Icarus. History records how the town was destroyed by the Athenians in 415 BC, rebuilt by the Phoenicians, and, after the Roman conquest, became a stipendiary town of the Empire. In the Middle Ages, the town was controlled by the powerful Chiaramonte family, before passing to the Moncada, and, in the 15C, to the La Grua-Talamanca.
