Ispica
: Michelin's recommendations
The centre of Ispica is home to several elegant churches, such as Santa Maria Maggiore, with its splendid collection of frescoes, and the Chiesà dell’Annunziata. The town’s streets and squares are lined with fine palazzi, one of which houses the town hall. Also of interest is the covered market, now used to host events organised by the town. However, Ispica is mainly known for its Cava d’Ispica, a huge geological fault dotted with cave dwellings, which lies about 10km from the town.
