The centre of the town is Piazza della Republica which is dominated by the cathedral and the senatorial palace, completed in 18C. On Corso XI Maggio and Via Rapisardi there are some beautiful palaces. Via Garibaldi leads to the town hall, a former Spanish military barracks. Don’t miss the fish market which takes place each morning behind the town hall.
