Mazara del Vallo : Michelin's recommendations

Mazara was founded by the Phoenicians at the mouth of the River Mazaro. It was an important port in Antiquity thanks to its sheltered site and proximity to Africa, and enjoyed a golden age under the Arabs and Normans. Today, the town is one of Italy's most important ports for deep-sea fishing and accounts for 20% of the national catch.
