Mazzarino : Michelin's recommendations

The most important buildings in this attractive medieval village – the Chiesa Madre, Palazzo Branciforti and Carmelite church – are grouped together on Corso Vittorio Emanuele. Also of interest is the ruined castle with its imposing round keep, which stands on a small hill just outside the village. It is thought that the castle replaced an earlier Roman-Byzantine fortress and was rebuilt by the Normans, then transformed into an elegant residence at the end of the 15C.
