Monte Sant'Angelo : Michelin's recommendations

Built on a 803m rocky spur and dominated by its imposing castle, Monte Sant'Angelo occupies a breathtaking location overlooking the Gargano promontory and the sea. According to legend, the abbey was founded after the Archangel Michael appeared three times to a local bishop here. In the Middle Ages, Crusaders would come to pray to the Archangel at the abbey before embarking for the Holy Land at Manfredonia.
