The cathedral was built in 1340. Its elegant doorway and its bell tower are in the original Gothic style.The interior has been remodelled several times. It has an attractive liturgical chancel carved in walnut (decorated with cherubs), wooden sculptures from the Gagini School, and three attractive 18 C paintings including a St Bartholomew by José de Ribera, a Spanish painter nicknamed il Spagnoletto.
