Palagonia : Michelin's recommendations

For the Siculi, Palagonia was important in both political and religious terms. According to legend, it was from the bubbling sulphurous waters of the Laghetto di Naftia that the Siculi gods, the Palici, were born and it is to these gods that the Siculi dedicated a small temple near the lake. Nowadays the lake is hidden by installations used to collect the natural gas for industrial purposes.
