The church was built in the 16C for the Jesuits who had recently arrived in Sicily. Its austere façade strongly contrasts with the Baroque exuberance of the interior, in which two beautiful paintings by Pietro Novelli are exhibited. Next door, Casa Professa houses the municipal library, which preserves countless manuscripts and early printed works.
