The Royal apartments include the Hercules room (1560), where the Sicilian parliament sits, named after its huge frescoes by Giuseppe Velasquez (19C) representing the Twelve Labours of Hercules (only six are depicted); the atrium, central room of the Joaria (the most distinctive of the old towers); and above all the chamber of Roger II, which emulates the Arabo-Norman decoration of the Palatine Chapel.

Mai 2011 : les photos sont interdites, et la visite guidée est assurée en italien uniquement (on arrive cependant à comprendre la plupart des commentaires en faisant un peu d'efforts).
