The severe 19C façade conceals several buildings of different styles. The oldest dates back to the 14C., to the time when the local senate sat in this palace. You will discover all the exuberance of Sicilian Baroque inside it. The upper storey contains a bas-relief representing a crowned Ceres, as a tribute to the Sicilian goddess. The council room, or stone room, is worth the detour for its marble panels filled with inscriptions and its superb wooden light fitting.
