Piraino Travel guide
Piraino : Michelin's recommendations
According to legend, Piraino was founded by the cyclops Piracmone, one of the giant workers of Vulcan, the god of fire. These legendary origins are probably rooted in the discovery of large bones in some of the caves around the town. Standing on a hilltop and dominated by its Saracen tower (the Torazza), Piràino retains much of its medieval layout and is dotted with numerous churches and towers.
