Ragusa
: Michelin's recommendations
There are two districts in Ragusa: the medieval town and the new town. Standing on a ridge in a spectacular site with a deep gorge on one side, the old town was destroyed by the 1693 earthquake. Rebuilt in Baroque style, yet retaining its medieval layout, it is now known as Ragusa Ibla. A new town, simply called Ragusa, was subsequently built on a higher ridge to the west.
