The Corso Italia, in the modern town, is flanked by palaces: the Lupis palace, with attractive consoles, the Zacco palace (at the corner of the Via San Vito) with a shield topped by a console, the Berini palace on whose facade are three large mascarons who seem to watch passers-by and are the incarnation of the poor (ugly and toothless), the noble (lordly and sure of themselves) and the traders (with a self-satisfied air).
