: Michelin's recommendations
Soluntum, along with Mozia and Palermo, was one of Sicily's Punic towns. It occupies an outstanding site on the slopes of Monte Catalfano, which overlooks the sea. It was founded by the Carthaginians in the 4C BC, before being ruled by the Romans around a century later. The town follows the chequered, Greek urban plan of Hippodamus of Miletus.
