Tolentino Travel guide
Tolentino : Michelin's recommendations
This small town in the Marche region is where Napoleon Bonaparte and Pius VII signed the treaty that ceded Avignon to France in 1797. Tolentino has since become famous for the Biennale Internazionale dell’Umorismo nell’Arte (International Biennial of Humour in Art) founded in 1961. The event’s growing success prompted the organisers to open the Museo della Caricatura (Caricature Museum) in Palazzo Sangallo on Piazza della Libertà.
