This handsome residence has many original wall paintings, including portraits, still life, landscapes and a surprising number of peacock representations. Within the villa, the kitchens are easily identified (with ovens and sink), as are the latrines, which represent an advanced drainage system. Whether or not the villa actually belonged to Poppea, wife of Nero, is however not so clear.
