Dedicated to Italian art of the 19C and 20C, this large collection of paintings and sculpture focuses primarily on the Piemontese artistic scene, and in particular on Reggio-born painter Antonio Fontanesi (1818-1882), whose work has a luminous solemnity, density and richness of colour. Most of the Italian schools of the last two centuries are represented, including the Milanese Novecento group and Arte Povera.
