Opened in 2000, the museum owes its existence to collector and film critic Maria Adrian Prolo (1908-1991) who first conceived of the idea in 1941. An imaginative interactive itinerary traces the main themes of cinematic history and the early days of the moving image. Centred on the “temple room” (second floor), projectors, models, eyewitness accounts, equipment, objects and posters displayed in a cinematographic setting provide visitors with plenty of information.
