Palazzo Madama Recommended Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

In this 14C-15C palace built on the site of the Roman Porta Pretoria, two “Royal Ladies” (Madama means lady) once lived. These were Christine of France, who had a new façade put on the building (17C) and Jeanne of Savoy-Nemours, who died before completion of an extensive rebuild, which included the west front of the palace (18C). The other completed sections were the grandiose entrance and the sumptuous staircase. Reopened after restoration in 2006, the palace is home to the Museo Civico di Arte Antica.
