Abetone : Michelin's recommendations
Built on both sides of a mountain, Abetone is one of the largest winter sports and summer holiday resorts in the Tuscan Apennines. The numerous interlinking runs allow visitors to ski in the Sestaione, Lima, Scoltenna and Luce valleys. The pass on which the resort is built, on the boundary between the grand duchies of Tuscany and Modena, takes its name from a giant fir tree (the abetone), which once stood in the majestic 3,700-ha forest nearby.
