This Gothic church dedicated to the Legend of the Holy Cross, as recounted by Jacques de Voragine accommodates a cycle of ten frescoes by Piero della Francesca completed between 1452 and 1466. The church is worth visiting for the frescoes alone, which are a milestone in Tuscan Renaissance painting, but the church is also home to a remarkable stained-glass window by Guillaume de Marcillat.
