This Square is named after one of the members of the Tarlati family, Pier Saccone, who had had one of the fortress' (cassero) four towers built here, the only real remnant of which is a clock tower with a castellated crown, standing to the right of a palace with an attractive five-arch portico. At the back of the square, a trace of a high wall linking the tower up with a shorter tower can be seen, opposite the Church of Saints Ippolito and Donato.
