Things to see and do - Certaldo
Certaldo Travel guide
Certaldo : Michelin's recommendations
Although the town of Certaldo, near San Gimignano, may seem disappointing at first glance, it is worth continuing up to Certaldo Alto, either via the modern town or by cable-car. Built of pink brick and surrounded by walls, the delightful upper town has a charming, peaceful atmosphere, and seems little changed from the time when Boccaccio (1315-75), author of Decameron, lived here.
