This village, 6km outside of Florence, is famous for its charterhouse founded in the 14C by a Florentine banker, Niccoló Acciaiuoli. The palazzo once owned by Acciaiuoli now houses an art gallery with frescoes by Pontormo which were formerly in the charterhouse cloisters.
