This nature park includes the lac de Massaciuccoli, which has an average depth of 1.60 m, the marshlands and the relics of the ancient Pisan forest which once covered the whole area between Spezia and Castiglioncello, South of Livourne. The wild-life consists mainly of fish, turtles and 250 species of bird.
