This small town midway between Siena and Arezzo has retained its medieval appearance, as well as a section of its ramparts. Most of the town’s monuments, many of which are Renaissance in style, can be seen on the main street running through the town. The town was the birthplace of the famous sculptor and architect, Andrea Contucci (1470-1529), otherwise known as Sansovino, a name he adopted in homage to his place of birth.
