Montepulciano Recommended Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

This attractive small town is typical of the Renaissance period and has retained much of its medieval charm. Situated in a remarkable location on the top of a tufa hill which separates the Chiana and Orcia valleys, Montepulciano is famous for its deep-red “vino nobile”, one of the most famous wines in Tuscany. San Biagio church, built in pale golden stone in a delightful setting below the town, is well worth a visit.
