Pontremoli Travel guide
Pontremoli : Michelin's recommendations
This small town at the confluence of the Magra and Verde rivers was once a meeting point for travelling booksellers. It is therefore no surprise that it was in Pontremoli that the famous Bancarella literary prize was launched. The town’s Piagnaro castle houses a fine collection of amazing anthropomorphic sculptures that bear witness to a civilisation about which little is known. The La Lunigiana region is also renowned for its culinary specialities, such as focaccette (savoury pies).
