This is the old centre of Poppi and is reached at the end of a long ascent passing through a gate bricked into the houses. The small Amerighi square is surrounded on three sides by arcades and is adorned with a marble fountain. It is dominated by the Church of the Madonna del Morbo that is topped by a dome. The square is the centre point of the high town. Via Cavour, similarly flanked by porticos ends at the Church of San Fedele founded by the monks of Vallombrosa in the 13 C.
