Populonia
: Michelin's recommendations
This settlement dates back to the Iron Age and was called Pupluna in Etruscan times. Populonia's wealth stemmed from the mining of minerals on the island of Elba and the hills surrounding Campiglia. In addition to the necropolis, sights of interest in the village include the Gasparri Musem which houses a small collection of funeral urns and other Etruscan objects found in the region.
