The silent hillsides planted with green oaks and vines remain unchanged, alas not so the view. Unfortunately, Prince Demidoff, son-in-law of Jerome Bonaparte, built a neo-Classical style palace below the modest house that was Napoleon’s summer residence, the interior decoration of which has been recreated. From the terrace there is an attractive view over the bay of Portoferraio. The garden is shaded by fine trees.
