Heading out of Florence through Coverciano, this long winding road climbs the hillside affording lovely views of the countryside and the magnificent houses bordering it. Halfway along, Villa Contri di Mezzaratta overlooks a little valley to the left of the road. Sited on a right-hand bend, it is striking for its crenellated tower and neo-medieval features, typical of the taste of the late 19C. The road stops in the heart of the village of Settignano.
