The church arose in the 12C but has undergone many alterations. The Romanesque interior, with three naves separated by columns with attractive capitals, has several remarkable works: a triptych of the Annunciation by Bicci di Lorenzo (1414); in the centre of the apse, a wooden Crucifix from the 14 C; in the chapel to the left of the chancel, a Virgin and Child by Andrea della Robbia and on the left, a Virgin and Child and two angels by the master of Varlungo.
